The Ocean Penthouse

The balcony faces the water. In the morning the light comes off the Atlantic at a low angle and the surface looks like hammered silver for about forty minutes before it shifts. You can have coffee out there before the beach fills up and the whole stretch of sand is yours to watch.

Isla Verde beach is a two-minute walk from the building entrance. Not a description-of-two-minutes walk. An actual two-minute walk with the sand in sight by the time you clear the gate. The water is warm enough to go in without adjusting.

The penthouse layout puts the kitchen on the interior and the living space toward the balcony, so the ocean stays in frame when you are cooking or eating. The kitchen is fully equipped for real meals. There is a good fish market 10 minutes away that most guests visit at least once.

Old San Juan is 15 minutes by Uber. El Morro fort is another 5 past that. If you spend a morning at the fort and an afternoon at the beach, you will have seen the two things people come to Puerto Rico for and still have time to be back for sunset on the balcony.

SJU airport is 8 minutes by car. Landing at 10 PM, dropping bags, and being on the balcony with a drink before 11 is a real itinerary. We make that happen by keeping the check-in process simple.
